Often our clients notice significant results following a single mons pubis reduction treatment. However, depending on your starting point and goals you may want to opt for a second or even a third round of fat freezing. If you do wish to have more than 1 treatment you must wait a minimum of 6 weeks from your last appointment, as that's how long it will take to see the majority of the results.

We use the specialist applicators and our Quattro Pro fat freezing equipment from Sculpt Pro to achieve the best possible outcome for each of our clients bothered by a 'fatty' mons pubis.
The small specialist 360° applicator is most often used for mons pubis fat freezing treatment. The size and shape of the applicator fits perfectly on the area and causes the least amount of discomfort. Where the area is larger we can use the round fit or flat fit large applicators on the mons pubis too.
We always adjust the treatment to your body shape and the size of the treatment area, so you can get the most significant fat reduction from just one treatment.

When treating areas further upwards, such as the lower abdomen, the larger 360° fat freezing applicators will be used.
Mons pubis fat reduction
Fat freezing for the mons pubis is a safe, non-invasive alternative to liposuction and other cosmetic surgery, and there is nu down-time following your treatment. You may want to opt for 2 to 3 appointments over a period of 3 to 5 months to achieve your best results.
What to expect from your treatment
The mons pubis reduction treatment takes 45 minutes at our comfortable Cheadle clinic and is preformed by a female aesthetician.
Your full appointment will take approximately 1 hour 15 minutes,. Before starting treatment we will first go through a full consultation to make sure the treatment is fully safe for you and that you know exactly what to expect when we start the treatment.
If you wear stretchy bottoms and a top that we can roll upwards you won't need to take off any clothes for the mons pubis treatment. We will ask you to roll your clothes out of the way of the exact treatment area, and we will cover you with towels so you can remain feeling comfortable and covered.

Discomfort during the mons pubis reduction treatment
There are just 2 specific times during the fat mons pubis treatment you may experience some localised pain. First is from the vacuum. Once we are ready to get started and the applicator is placed on the area a vacuum within the applicator suctions in the loosest fat of the mons pubis. This can feel like a pull or pinch and although some people aren't bothered, others may find it very uncomfortable.
Luckily any discomfort lasts only a few minutes, as your body will quickly adapt. The second point of discomfort is after 3 minutes of the treatment starting, as that is the moment where the freezing starts. Again, this discomfort doesn't tend to last long. Once the applicators are fully attached and cool many clients feel very comfortable and are even capable of having a nap.

There are different sizes in fat freezing applicators that we use at Fat Freezing Manchester, but due to the very specific size and area of mons pubis fat deposits we often use a specialist small applicator head, which will increase your comfort during the treatment and the fat reduction outcome following the treatment.

Fat mons pubis treatment and your period
Because of the location of the application we recommend you plan your appointment so it does not fall on one of the more uncomfortable days of your cycle. You can have your treatment at any time and your period won't exclude you from treatment.

How fat freezing the mons pubis gets results
By placing the specialist fat freezing applicator onto the fat mons pubis we can manage and reduce the temperature of the area to the freezing temperature required to trigger a process in the fat cells called apoptosis. As a direct result of freezing the fat cells begin apoptosis, a programmed cell death process, which causes the fat cells to break down. The cellular debris is taken slowly broken down further and carried away to be discarded by the macrophages, other immune cells and the lymphatic system.

Fat cells are more susceptible to cold than other cells, and by only cooling the area down to a specific temperature all other cells remain completely intact and undamaged. Fat freezing doesn't cause damage to skin, nerves, circulation or other natural processes and is considered a highly safe alternative to liposuction and other fat loss treatments.

What is a mons pubis and what causes an enlargement?
The mons pubis is known by different names, such as the venus mound, pubic mound, mons veneris and pubic hill.
​
The mons pubis is a rounded mound of fatty tissue located over the pubic bones in the front of the pelvic area. It serves as a protective cushion for the pubic bone during activities such as walking and sitting.
​
While an enlarged mons pubis may be a cosmetic concern, it is a normal variation of anatomy and does not generally indicate a health problem.

Enlargement of the pubic fat area can be caused by a range of factors. Genetics, excessive weight gain and significant weight fluctuations over time are common factors that attribute to an enlargement of the area. Hormonal changes can also cause the pubis to enlarge, and can occur as a result of puberty, pregnancy, menopause and due to health conditions such as PCOS.

Although fat freezing gets rid of fat cells permanently, in some cases some fat may return to the area where significant weight has been gained or where hormonal issues cause new fat to be stored.
